Often times jewelry is flash plated, which consists of a thin layer of 0.17 microns (about 0.05%) of gold. This layer would be enough for earrings but, for the majority of jewelry pieces, it wears off quite quickly.

Minma jewelry focuses on providing the best quality at an affordable price. It’s not gold, but it will last! Minma pieces have 1 micron (more than 5x flash plating) of gold.This provides a more than sufficient layer of pieces that are exposed to rough wear.

However, it’s important to take care of your pieces to ensure the expected durability of the pieces:

• Avoid the permanent contact with cleaning and personal care products.
• Avoid seawater or pool chlorine, which may cause reactions in the silver jewel and in the gold bath.
• In addition, water and sweat can cause metal to rust, leaving it with stains and darkened. Therefore, it is important to clean the pieces if you use them when exercising or bathing.
• Cleaning the jewelry is essential so that they do not spoil, but the place where you keep them is also very important. The ideal is to store them separately in the original boxes.
• We recommend that you do not store multiple pieces in a single box/bag because excessive movement may cause the pieces to be marked or damage the elements and stones.
